Tech Tip: Twine

Image
For my Week 11 Tech Tip, I wanted to learn about Twine. I read someone's project who had used twine and became interested about what it was. I think the way it has been used in project's makes the stories interesting and really creative! To my surprise, Twine was really simple to use. I think twine would be really fun to use for a story in the future. Choose your own adventure with Twinery ( Flickr )

Tech Tip: Google Timer

Image
For this weeks tech tip, I learned about the Google timer. I struggle to manage my time well and find myself putting in way too much time into one subject because I lose track of time. This causes me to focus only on one subject and neglect my other tasks for the day. Also, I think it will help know when I should take study breaks. I think I read somewhere that the most effective studying is done by studying for 45 minutes then taking a 5 minute break. I think I'm going to use this timer when I study to improve my time management. Timer ( Wikimedia )

Tech Tip: Canvas App

Image
For this week's tech tip I wanted to write about the Canvas app. I mainly only use the canvas app to be able to check my grades as soon as they're entered or double check the syllabus whenever I need to. Other than that, I don't find the canvas app very useful. I can't take my quizzes through my phone, so it doesn't help me in terms of completing assignments. I also always check the class average on an exam or assignment, which the canvas app doesn't have as a feature. Overall though, I really enjoy being able to check my grades at anytime! Canvas Logo

Tech Tip: Reverse Image Search

Image
For my week 6 Tech Tip, I decided to learn about the Google Reverse Image Search. This is something I've always wanted to learn, but never had any reasons to use it before. The steps were extremely easy, by just copying the image's address and pasting it into the search bar I discovered the image was of Ravana. This tool will be helpful in the future for finding image information for blog posts. Mystery Image of Ravana

Tech Tip: Typing Game Tech Tip

Image
For this tech tip I decided to play the Ninja Cat game, since last week I said I wanted to improve my typing speed. I thought this game was really fun, unfortunately it wasn't working well for me, so I kept losing. I tried some other games, but they all seemed to load too slow. Typing (Source: Pixabay )

Tech Tip: Typing Test

Image
For my week 3 tech tip I did a typing test. I did the type test on KeyHero.com and had about 65 words per minute. I was slowed down a lot because I had poor accuracy. The only time I’ve tried to improve my typing speed was in middle school when we were required to take a keyboarding class. I think I will continue to do typing tests to try to improve my typing speed. Typing in office ( Flickr )

Tech Tip: DuckDuckGo

Image
For this Tech Tip, I decided to try out the DuckDuckGo browser. Before this assignment, I had never heard of this browser before. I really like this alternative because it doesn't track and sell my personal information. The advertisements on my browsers have never bothered me too much, but I'd prefer to prevent them if possible. I didn't use the Google browser too often before because my default browser was Bing, and I've been too lazy to try it. I enjoyed DuckDuckGo after trying it out though, and I changed it to my new default browser. The DuckDuckGo Duck  Source:  Wikipedia
